We thought you might be intrigued, we were, when we purchased this home for ourselves in 1998. We are putting it on the market to move to our new home already under construction at the Hawke Crest Subdivision. The view we've used on the main page of our web site is the view from our lawn deck. Facing almost directly west, the parade of mountain ridges goes off into the distance. We have spent many beautiful evening watchng the sunset from the deck at the edge of our lawn. There are many sites where you can see long range views in the area but this home is less than 8 miles from Hendersonville and about 12 to 15 minutes away from spectacular Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park.
Welcome to Our Home
The house itself is nestled at the end of a paved driveway, on a 2.49 acre wooded parcel of pines and poplars with mountain laurels and dogwood trees mixed in. Built in 1976, the home is totally electric and very energy efficient. We've averaged a $99.00 electrice bill over the last two years, and that includes heat/cooling, hot water and all other electical use, including the six person hot tub which we run all year long
This is a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath home, with a large office, living room and kitchen and dinning area on the first floor. There is a partial full height basement with a workshop area, a finished heated den with ouside enterance and a second room that could offer expansion as an apartment. Over the last 9 years we've made improvements to the house including:: a new roof: completely new piping; the addition of the lawn deck; a double deck off the back of the home, new carpets throughout; a new wood-laminate floor in the kitchen and upgraded all the plumbing fixtures in the home. We've changed the dishwasher; the refrigerator; disposal; hot water heater and replaced the cooktop with a Jenn Air downdraft range. We also added the hot tub in the greenhouse. The greenhouse is very energy efficient and will reach over 100 degrees on a sunny winter's day with the vents closed. In summer it is well shaded and with the vents open it will be just less than the outside air temperature.
